I am learning how to spell. I have been reading
Tonya's blog for a while now. I like her quilting style. She is spelling it out in her quilts, literally...! When I saw her post on "Help wanted: Halloween Noises" I jumped in and took part. It is the only way to learn something new, but no worries, there is a step-by-step tutorial on her blog that I can follow. I did tell Tonya that I have only made one letter 'N' before this. Tonya kindly advised me to make the word 'HISS' and I have chosen a fat upper case font because it is easier to work with for someone new to this kind of quilting.

This is my 'HISS' block. It is ready to mail to Tonya as soon as I get her snail mail address. There was no restriction on color use in the block and I could not decide on just one color, so I put all three. I hope it is okay for you Tonya?
After I finished with the word 'HISS', I carried on and completed my name from the letter 'N' I made earlier. It was a lot of fun and I will be making more of them, even a quilt! Thanks Tonya for your great tutorial.

Your 'hiss' is great! I love the slanting bit for the H, and the colours are just right!
