Suitcase Challenge # 1

I posted earlier in my blog about the Sewing Basket of Victoria (SBOV), the group that I belong to. The group was established in 2008. There are only 3 members and we branched out from the Basket Makers of Victoria, so we called ourselves Sewing Basket of Victoria. That was how SBOV started.

Each year we set ourselves a challenge, and this year's challenge comes in a suitcase which we collaged. I've got to work on Lynette's project which is Lovable's quilt from the original quilt of 1930s. Lynette's first block is pansy. I have just finished the block and I am so pleased with how it turned out. Lynette hand dyed the fabrics and threads herself. They all go perfectly together in a block. I am very happy that I did finish something...!

This is an original Lovable's Quilt. I was lucky to see it in person. It belonged to Laurene Sinema of Quilted Apple. I took her workshop when she came to Abu Dhabi to teach there. Sadly, Laurene has since passed away due to breast cancer.

I just changed my blog's layout, just for fun
(thanks to my Angel of the West for her guidance)

Enjoy
