I have been following Jude Hill's blog at
Spiritcloth for quite a while now. She is my stitching angel. She inspires me to take a stitch each day. About two months back she announced on her blog that she was going to be published in the new
Art Quilting Studio magazine by Stampington & Co, the premier issue coming out it June. One of her commenter's was
Jenny Doh, the Editor-in-Chief & Director of Publishing. In her comment she said she was really looking forward to Jude Hill's work in the premier issue of the Art Quilting Studio. Knowing that I would not be able to get a copy here in Australia, I jumped on the net and pre-ordered a copy. The premier copy is supposed to come out in the US on the June 1st., but 2 days short of June my copy arrived! I have only leafed through it, but I know I will read it from cover to cover this weekend!
Here it is my premier copy of Art Quilting Studio.
Jude's article is on page 16 entitled
What if. I am so delighted to also learn that
Jenny Doh is also a quilter. There are some photos of her quilts on the Editor's page. The magazine featured many other talented art quilters there as well. Because I am branching into art quilts, this is a great magazine for me. I will have to subscribe to it for sure.
Other magazines I read from Stampington & Co. are
SEW Somerset,
Belle Armoire and
Artful Blogging. The only place I have seen them in Australia is Borders bookshop in the magazines section. Up until now I have been ordering my copies directly on the internet. If you love art quilts or sewing art and of course blogging art, these are the magazines to look for.
