As you know I am taking an online workshop 'cloth to cloth' with Jude Hill. I'm totally engrossed with the fabric weaving method I'm learning in the workshop. The best thing with fabric weaving is that I can use any scrap fabric in my stash. I haven't bought new fabric for the class at all. At the workshop I've met many wonderful like minded people. People from all over the world came together to do the class. Last Saturday I met Jacky who lives here in Victoria. We found that we are both fond of of vintage Japanese kimono and fabric. Jacky, Lee (Jacky's sister) and I took a trip together to Ziguzagu, a Japanese vintage textiles and garment accessories shop in Melbourne. Here are some photos I took of us and the fabric to share with you.
Ziguzagu is a must visit for any art and craft lovers that come to Melbourne. Apart from textiles Ziguzagu also carries antique Japanese furniture and home decorations.
This is Jacky. She couldn't decide what she would get. I think she bought everything in her hand that day! I will show you what I bought from there in the next couple of posts. It is too dark to take good photos when I get home from work in the evening.

Ziguzagu. What a great name. Just saying Zigazagu is fun. Fabulous store. We don't have anything like that around here at all.
It looks like you had a wonderful day. Did you come home with everything in your hand too?
Yes, a definite *must* visit again Nat!
What a wonderful day we had...lots of fun, chatter, shopping (and a little bit of rain).
Great post and I can see some more fabrics that I *need*.
Look forward to catching up again soon.

what a wonderful place.....I just drooled over the pictures, it would be hard to decide what to buy!
Well you did warn me - now how I can I persuade DH we need a stopover in Melbourne on our next trip to NZ without letting slip about this brilliant shop until I "discover" it when we get there? Dying to see what you bought and would be interested to know what Jacky does with her goodies so I'm following her blog too! I've also signed up for Ziguzagu emails!! What a great place!
