Birthday Giveaways Winner is...!

After a few days away to visit with my son's family I am now back. It was a quick visit and a long drive, but the trip was worth every minute of it. I had lots of cuddles with my granddaughter and grandson. The most gorgeous babies in the world in Yahya's eyes!

Thanks everyone for entering my Birthday giveaways. Sorry if I didn't respond to any of you this time. I did the draw tonight the old fashion way by printing the names and cutting them up into strips. I then put the strips in this Japanese sewing caddy and got Mr Notjustnat to draw one out. And the winner is...Deanna of Eclectic-Meanderings. Deanna please email me your address so I can post the gifts off to you.

Let me say a little bit about the Japanese sewing caddy. I found this caddy at an antique shop in Kamakura town. I didn't know at the time that the cord on this caddy is called kumihimo, a handmade cord (I posted a bit about it on the above link). The Japanese use kumihimo cords for the bags that are used in the tea ceremony.  We will have a chance to learn how to make kumihimo cords in the Japanese Textile Study Tour next April.  I'm really looking forward to it.

These are the gifts for you Deanna, a cute bag and the New Kimono book. I hope you will get good use out of them. Thanks for being a good supporter of my blog Deanna. What's now on the blogging front? Oh, I haven't been making many things lately. I have been busy as you know. I'm a co-organizer for the Japanese Textile Study Tour with Bryan of the Japanese Textile Workshops. The tour is coming along very nicely. We only have a couple of spots to fill. Our members are truly International. They are from all over the world. I'm really excited to meet them all. If you are thinking of joining the tour please don't hesitate to contact me.

Enjoy
Nat
