Cultural Weekend - Sunday

We went into the city again on Sunday for the Melbourne Recital Centre's open day. There were many find performances that day. We saw Doug de Vries playing Brazilian Guitar in the main Elizabeth Murdoch Hall. Elisabeth Murdoch Hall's unique design is intimate, acoustically superb and features world class technical facilities. It is ideally suited to the performance of ensemble music and spoken word and features a gently raked Stalls and Circle and unique, split level side balconies, giving excellent sightlines and outstanding acoustics from all seats. I love the interior of the main hall. It all made of wood panels and has swirling designs effect all over the surface. The ceilings lights were also very interesting in the shape of the propellers (that what I think?). Drop by to the MRC the next time you are in Melbourne.

The lighting fixture is inspiring! Now I know the outstanding looking building next to the Victorian College of the Arts is Melbourne Recital Centre. I'll go and have a look - kumi
