My Christmas Ornament Swaps

My Christmas ornament swap for Sue was sent on Wednesday. Sue told me she received it today so it is safe for me to post it now. I can hardly wait to blog about it because I had a couple of busy weeks with family and friends, and I haven't been making anything else. The only thing I did was this ornament in the last two weeks. I already knew what I was going to make so it was easy to just put a few sewing sessions in here and there in the middle of everything. I love Christmas and the swaps had given me a head start on it. Thanks Robyn and Clare for organizing such fun swaps.

My parcel was wrapped and ready to post to Sue. I love this antique looking wrapping paper I found it at my local op-shop. I have been thinking of using red for this Christmas color, so I am drawn to everything red at the moment.

And here is what I've make for Sue, a single heart in red and white with simple embroidery stitches and a button on it. I have attached a handmade cord along the seam to nicely finish it off. I used the same cord as a hanging as well.

I made a second one in white and red to keep for myself. I will always remember you Sue when I bring it out at each Christmas. We are Stitch sisters with red hearts...!

Handmade collage Christmas card made from old magazines and wrapping papers with some used stamps thrown in. Even the base was a piece of recycled journal cover. It is very gratifying to be able to produce beautiful things from recycled materials. Make sure you hop over to Sue's blog and see what she made for me...!
